Plain-language summary
Extends, until September 30, 2019, the charters of a long list of federal advisory committees originally created by earlier executive orders, proclamations, or presidential directives, including bodies covering topics such as White House fellowships, science and technology advice, HIV/AIDS policy, invasive species, infrastructure security, spectrum management, and advisory councils for several national monuments. Assigns responsibility for each committee's presidential functions under the Federal Advisory Committee Act to the head of the department or agency listed alongside it, following procedures set by the General Services Administration. Supersedes sections 1 and 2 of Executive Order 13708 of 2015 with the new continuance list, and revokes Executive Order 13805 of July 2017, which had established a Presidential Advisory Council on Infrastructure. States that it takes effect September 30, 2017.

Legal standing
Not yet published. Court challenges, injunctions and rulings tied to individual orders will appear here once each can be linked to its source record.
Nothing appears in this space without a citation to a court action or a cited precedent. An order with no such record is described as untested, never as likely or unlikely to survive.
Claimed authority
By the authority vested in me as President, by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and consistent with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (5 U.S.C. App.), it is hereby ordered
Quoted from the order as written. Many orders cite nothing more specific than “the Constitution and the laws”; this reproduces what the order claims, not an assessment of whether it holds.
Disposition
Supersedes: EO 13708, September 30, 2015 Revokes: EO 13805, July 19, 2017
Compiled after the fact by the National Archives, so recent orders often have none yet. An empty disposition means no record, not no activity.
