Plain-language summary
Amends Executive Order 13761 by pushing back its key deadline from July 12, 2017 to October 12, 2017, giving the administration more time for fact-finding and analysis before deciding on positive actions related to sanctions relief for the Government of Sudan. The change applies to provisions in sections 1, 10, and 12(b) of that order, each of which had the deadline replaced. It also revokes section 11 of Executive Order 13761 outright. The order states it does not create any enforceable rights or benefits for outside parties against the United States or its officials.

Legal standing
Not yet published. Court challenges, injunctions and rulings tied to individual orders will appear here once each can be linked to its source record.
Nothing appears in this space without a citation to a court action or a cited precedent. An order with no such record is described as untested, never as likely or unlikely to survive.
Claimed authority
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.), the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000 (22 U.S.C. 7201-7211), the Comprehensive Peace in Sudan Act of 2004, as amended (Public Law 108-497), the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act of 2006 (Public Law 109- 344), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code
Quoted from the order as written. Many orders cite nothing more specific than “the Constitution and the laws”; this reproduces what the order claims, not an assessment of whether it holds.
