Plain-language summary

Auto-generated summaryWritten by claude-sonnet-5 from the order’s own text · prompt v4 ·

Amends Executive Order 13017, which established the Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry, by increasing the commission's membership from 32 to 34 members. The change updates a single sentence in the earlier order's Section 1(a) and does not otherwise alter the commission's structure or duties.

Claimed authority

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to add an additional two members to the Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry, it is hereby ordered

Quoted from the order as written. Many orders cite nothing more specific than “the Constitution and the laws”; this reproduces what the order claims, not an assessment of whether it holds.

Disposition

Amends: EO 13017, September 5, 1996 Note: EO 13056 is nullified by virtue of the Commission being abolished by EO 13138, September 30, 1999.

Compiled after the fact by the National Archives, so recent orders often have none yet. An empty disposition means no record, not no activity.
