Plain-language summary

Auto-generated summaryWritten by claude-sonnet-5 from the order’s own text · prompt v4 ·

Amends section 1-103(e) of Executive Order 12898 by replacing the original 12-month deadline for a required action with a fixed date of March 24, 1995. It also revises the related reporting period described in that section, changing the reference from a 12-month period starting on the date of the original order to the period running from that date through March 24, 1995. The change affects the timeline set out in Executive Order 12898 for agencies subject to its requirements.

Claimed authority

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America and in order to amend Executive Order No. 12898, it is hereby ordered

Quoted from the order as written. Many orders cite nothing more specific than “the Constitution and the laws”; this reproduces what the order claims, not an assessment of whether it holds.

Disposition

Amends: EO 12898, February 11, 1994

Compiled after the fact by the National Archives, so recent orders often have none yet. An empty disposition means no record, not no activity.
